Don't listen to me, talk to a reseller. Also email Autodesk, see what they say (also to double-check the reseller, since in the end it's Autodesk who holds the keys).
Oh you mean the new real-time shader feature that Autodesk decided to put in Maya LT but not give their premium customers? How nice of Autodesk... really. *annoyed*
Wouldn't it be sweet if Zbrush 5... ...if it was already released? ... or Autodesk bough... neeh 1. 64-bit 2. Linux? 3. Buy Allegorithmic guys, before Autodesk will do it!
A friend of mine got student Max using the Autodesk Edcommunity thing and he's in computer science. I don't think it matters, as long as your institution is in Autodesk's list.
I'm looking into a good drawing / sketch app for iPad. These two seem the best: Procreate Autodesk sketchup pro - edited: sketchbook pro Just wondering what everyone else's exp with them is.
There's a post on autodesk's area as well: http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-3ds-max/autodesk-3ds-max--3ds-max-design-2013/3dsmax-2013--big-issue-on-normal-maps/ by a colleague of Xoliul's.. Edit: Haha, which is actually you, r-a-n-d-o-m. I am an idiot ;-)
(the aforementioned 'loop tools' http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-3ds-max/autodesk-3ds-max--3ds-max-design-2011/loop-tools-in-graphite-modeling-not-workign-correctly/)
This is a rumor but apparently Autodesk may stop developing Max and Motion Builder. I'm interested in seeing where this is going but maybe it's about time that I dust off Maya.
Thanks for the great video. SmartExtrude came from Max, where it's been for a while now. Looking forward to more movement between Autodesk's tools. Like more of the sweet USD support from Maya coming over to Max.
