I don't know if this is the best place to throw this down, but a friend of mine made this: http://www.indiedevmap.com/ Same as gamedevmap, but for indie companies, could be useful for people wanting jobbies.
Dave Perry`s 2.0 http://www.gameindustrymap.com/ is pretty useful, a bit more upto date than gamedevmap. Be prepared for no reply at all, it`s a lot more common than you might think.
GameDevMap is suuuuper outdated. Plus; that wikipedia link was missing a ton of studios and has listed a ton that don't exist anymore. It doesnt even have SplashDamage on there, yet it has BizarreCreations which shutdown a while ago
Terrible news, really sucks for those involved. There's gamedevmap which pretty much everyone knows about, I'll edit/update this later with any links I find for opportunities, think I saw quite a few yesterday day. Good luck all!
There are a few sim companies in the Kent area, make sure you check gamedevmap too for other options around you. I´m not quite sure why you are selling yourself low here when you have applied to AAA! Best of luck!

Actually, it looks like there's a decent number of studios in Spain: Gamedevmap If you truly love making games just keep making art - it's still just a job, one that has very little security. A Fine Art degree will help when you need to get a work Visa but when it comes to getting a job studios only care about good art.
