I've never really liked gamedevmap, it's just super clunky to use, so I made my own Google dev map a while back when looking for a job. I thought I'd copy them over to a new map, add few US studios to it and share it. I'll add more companies and countries if people think this might be useful.

Obviously right now it's skewed to the UK cause that's where I was looking for a job.
Also another reason I don't like gamedevmap is cause it's kinda cluttered with not so useful stuff, like publishers, etc. So this is pretty up-front aimed at console/PC dev, with bigger mobile companies and outsourcing studios.

I know there was another thread with a big list of Dev studios started, someone was curating it pretty well to, sorry i cant remember their name.
also think it would be awesome to have a few people as "admins" and keep it updated unless you think your up to the task of doing it alone

I'll add a few more to it from that thread and also the job census thread. Plus a few more that I can think of that aren't in either (we have no DoubleFine members?!) and post again at the weekend.
I was thinking of getting a few people in each area/region to keep their bit updated. I was originally going to just have it open, but I don't want people adding super-small studios/start-ups. Cause while they're still totally valid as studios, they're not going to be that useful for us when looking for jobs.
Pretty sure a lot of people wouldnt mind helping out.
We tried that a couple of years ago, it didn't catch on with the community and no one was bothered enough to add everything themselves.

I was planning to do a pass on the US stuff later on and then maybe get someone froody to help keep this updated and useful for people.

Jon I'd love that info. I might not add some depending on how new they are etc. I didn't want to flood this with all the start-ups that end up disappearing... but I'm sure a lot of them are suitable.
