Very inspiring 2d work! My favorites are your little sci-fi alien environments but your other work is awesome as well. I love how most of your characters have a lot of personality in their faces even as creepy monsters.
Oh and those insectoid mechs look like they'd be a blast to model and texture.
There's something that I absolutely love about this concept piece. Just the way everything is configured it looks awesome. Strangely enough it reminds me of the game Section 8 if you've played it. Looks like this would be an awesome capture point.
Great work man, this is really inspiring. I'm gonna just save everything in here into my inspiration folder.
I wanna know though, are you self taught? Did you start with traditional art and then move onto digital, also how long have you been painting for?
I am pretty much self taught yes but Ive been drawing etc since i was young. I moved to digital around 6 years ago, haven't looked back I was always more of a drawer than a painter, I've been painting for about 4 years maybe, still got shitloads to learn.
Droping by just to say how much I love your stuff. Really inspiring, dude. Let me ask you something, when you do your hard surface illustrations, you use 3d to help you with perspective, or you draw your own perspective lines?

I mix it up depending on the project. I used to draw it all out by hand, which was pretty damn time consuming, nowadays, since finding out about sketchup, I pretty much always do some kind of rough 3d blockout to paint over. This eliminates all of the perspective headaches. You still need to know how perspective works etc but lets admit it, drawing in perspective is not the funnest thing in the world.
I LOVE your design sense! Literally everything you create i feel compelled to model! I look forward to your sketches daily! Keep the inspiration flowing

mesh
@mesh In terms of sketch up resources, i just watched the default Google ones which can be found here http://sketchup.google.com/training/videos.html. They're very short but very good.
A new environment I bashed out today.
Just consolidating my latest sketch up shit into this thread.
