hey guys i have a few models i have made in 3ds max 10 and wana know how to export them so i can use them in source hammer SDK and then put them in gmod. even a link to a tut. i tried asking this same thing on facepunch and got no replies. any help would be great.
So yea im a total jerk with the original sketchbook title...totally didn't see the rules post...:P Anyhow nothing to major...so damn busy lately. I managed to resurrect an old piece and start hammering it out...pretty rough point to show it but whateva enjoy and destroy :D
added to the white list: Mr_Drayton Gamer_Radiation mospheric Uncle: You are still in there as are the friends you asked for. Try again. I rarely take anyone out of there unless they have been bad. But when they've been bad they also lose their polycount account too. We've dropped that ban hammer before.
Hey Danny, how's things? This is awesome! Are you gonna make a hammer or anything to go with it? You should maybe try adding more definition to her legs, see how that looks? Although most comic superheroes skip leg day it seems. Just a thought. Looks really nice though.
Yeah that was one of the towers I was using for reference, I kind of put ideas together from a few different images. I have a few ideas of things I'm going to add. I'm not worried to much about the backdrop because I am being tested on the tower, so I'm hammering in on that.
Decided to just hammer through! After cleaning it up I felt a lot happier with what I had done. Still having an issue on the abdomen, figuring out how to fix it.. Without messing up the other stuff I have..3d is complex! I could just taper it in if it was 2d :>
Compiling it might spit out an error. CM is the collision mesh viability toggle in Hammer but if you haven't compiled it won't help at all. If the mesh shows up with CM turned on then its a texture issue, chances are the ref mesh is fine and passed a series of checks, because it used it to create a Collision mesh.
probly you have scaled the object too much, and its xform is messing you up. reset xform, under the hammer on command panel, "ultilites" or select object detach or merge to a new scene, or create a edit poly object and attach. lots of things to do when max messes up
I tried to get rid of most of the hell loops and make the grip less blocky : I made the area of the pin, where the hammer strikes broader, and scaled the whole gun a little broader as well. Redid the barrel . Could you tell which areas you meant, that are missing body and courves ?
I've been spending some time refining a couple areas bit by bit, here is a couple screens of the retouched serrated edge. There is still a couple areas that are having some random errors which i'm trying to hammer out w/ trial and error. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. :) Thanks!
