-Hope I can explain it properly as I don't know some terms. Requirements: Need to make a BIG terrain model in Maya and texture it similar to that of UDK or CryEngine. ie. 1 Big texture(what you call that ? Color Map ?)+ 4-5 different detailed tiling texture and similarly 1 Big Normal Map + 4-5 detailed tiling Normal Map ?…
The "hard surface" section in Substance Painter shelf is interesting. I would love to have ability to bake my own set of normal map stamps there. But is it possible? I know there is a technical way to be able to stamp normal map "alphas" so that they are correctly aligned no matter how rotated, because the ones that are…
Hey! When i am done with modeling, i want to prepare some stuff for exporting the mesh. Current workflow: 1. set all subtools to highest subdivision * Subtools -> all high 2. now, to decimate in the 3. step, i need to make sure all subtools has baked layers * select the first subtool * "Layers -> "Bake all" * arrow down…
I don't know if the title is accurate enough, therefore I've added some images where my problem is shown. I just want that the edge of the golden material goes around in a circle instead of a 8 sided polygon. The mesh is low poly and I've baked several maps with the high poly in Substance Painter. Thanks in advance.
Hi could someone kind enough please help me how i would make creases where the stitching is? im trying to find a easy way to do it without making the model too complicated. im using 3ds max cheers
Yes, take a look at game like trine which are 3d-sidescrollers made with udk. Too many to list here. Have you experiences in developing a game ? My personal rule of thumb: level of challenge = pow(basic challenges , #ideas) If you have never done a game before, start small with really just one ideas, take a game genre…
We're fast approaching a time where the assets from movies can be interchanged with games and vice versa, I think this is a great move. Just look at LA noire, the facial technology they used surpasses the believabilty i've seen in almost all major cgi features to date. There's still certainly room for games made purely for…
When I make two planes, intersect them and add the diffuse with the opacity map on it I get 2 of the sides of the planes to render the image. But when I go behind it, it's just blank (pure alpha). Is there a way to make a card display a picture on both sides?
Have a go at creating, saving and using an animated model in-engine. You will find that it is infinitely smooth. You do indeed make frames, but you aren't making every frame, you are making keyframes that are smoothly tweened to infinity. You can of course make it behave like traditional animation, but it's not the…
True, I do not think anybody will actually look at the cool fences I made, lol. I think I might go for a little more simple style just for the sake of making my life easier at the moment.
