Thanks EarthQuake! I did just that but I have a question.. http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/9342/sworduvwou8.jpg The problem is obvious, my UV layout is scrunched (Bad), but the texture shows no stretching (good). If I reverse it, my layout is correct (good) but the texture shows stretching (bad). Thoughts?
Hey guys :) My fiance and I finally got my new site layout online! It shows a bunch of work I recently posted in my Infamous 2 thread, as well as some more recent paintings. I got rid of a few older pieces too. Mostly looking for feedback on layout and functionality, and if there are any blatant issues that are bothersome.…
Procbuilding is just a tool that places instanced meshes. You'll get a much better result by building a pipeline yourself, using something like Houdini to generate your city layout, indvidiual structure layouts, and generating an appropriate import for your target engine that respects mesh instancing / batching.
No script necessary, the UV Layout tool works pretty well. Copy your diffuse/UV set 0 into a new UV set, and run Layout. I love the new Unfold3d unfold algorithm, but you can always switch back to the legacy version in the Unfold tool settings.
Something was bugging me about the layout, the bookcases should be laid out in an octagonal layout, to match the floor texture you have. It looks like you have flattened them out too much. Found a blueprint which might help you get a better idea of the proportions :
I've heard of a lot of people say how texture artists do the UV layout and other times by the modeler. My question is how would the texture artist know the UV layout? Even with a UV template you usually can only guess where it's located on the model. Is the only way they can achieve desired results by using a 3D package to…
Hey guys and girls :) I started some time ago with the blockout for my very first Unreal project. My goal for this project is to learn the engine and get an finished environment scene for my portfolio. I'm really looking forward to hear what you think abput the layout of the scene and what I could change to make the layout…
If you don't mind a slightly larger layout, maybe look into the Yakuza games on PS2/3 for reference - the Champion district is their equivalent of Golden Gai. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100322163047/yakuza/images/8/82/Map_of_Kamurocho.jpg Orange blobs 4 and 5 on the right side of the map to show you the street…
For personal stuff just use XSI if it suits you, no point jumping on inferior alternatives. If you want to find a job than learn Maya (Blender/Modo are just a waste of time in this case). For UV's try UV Layout + little addon here to send models to UV Layout, works like a charm.
Hmmm, weird. Here is a sequence of what happens when I try to do this: 1. 4 view layout 2. switch to maximized perspective 3. switch to top view 4. switch to perspective (but it is a perspective view of the top, not the original perspective) 5. 4 view layout What am I missing?
