Aaaand I figured it out. There is a SECOND button, which disables/enables history saving in the File menu.

Anisotropic filtering should probably be enabled, much of the detail was simply raped by bi/tri-linear filtering.

the other inputs are enabled or disabled depending on what type of surface you have defined in the material properties.

Decided to try something different with emissive planes enabled for lighting. I find the result an improvement at the moment.

Yes, of course! Click on the mesh and enable your desired transparency type from the menu that appears. :smile:

I tried making a box, smoothing groups enabled and then apply the UVW unwarp thing but it doesn't work.

Are you using Shadowmap Shadows ? Try enabling Raytraced Shadows instead, and fiddle with the settings. Edit : Gah ! :)
