You're better than your site presents itself. Three thumbnails yet each have several different pieces under them. You need more breakdowns too. Wireframes, texture sheets, etc. And you can't be doing things like having a 2048 texture on the wood cart when it looks like a simple tiling wood could do the same job at 512. All…
Everyone has different workflows so how you use Maya and ZBrush is completely up to you. For example, organic stuff I either work from a simple base mesh that I create in Maya or from ZSpheres in ZBrush. Hard surface stuff I tend to do all in Maya but if I needed a small complex design on a panel or something I would pop…
Thanks for the reply Zac! I actually checked that website out. I looked at the 660ti vs the gtx 760 and the only real difference was in pixel rate. That was about a 40% difference which seems like a lot but even after reading the definition of pixel rate I'm still not sure if that's a big difference. There's a $55…
god I have entered that spiral quite a few times when left on my own! one of the hardest pitfalls to avoid. 2 of the best jobs I have had were running a cybercafe, I just took money and entered numbers into the accounts, 95% of my time was free on a PC, Another job was Night time construction site security, had wifi a…
Wordy Post... Ok back with an update! Thanks to everyone for the feedback and encouragement, feel like I'm on the right track! @refriedspinach - Thanks for the kind words and noted about the black clipping into the pic. These are just screen grabs from the UDK viewport, I'll be sure to be a little more careful going…
Yeah, that's the runt-of-the-litter-clamoring-for-attention effect. The short man at the party doing the same. Blender's a decent tool- I use it myself pretty frequently-but its community is retarded. Since it's a free tool, it attracts a lot of youngsters with over inflated and unrealistic expectations of their futures in…
Hi everybody! Although I've been a member for almost 2 weeks now, this is my first post here. I was just watching all of your outstanding work and absorbing all the content I could, while I'm also on my own quest to become a character modeler. Said that, I found pertinent to post my question here, since david.l.flores…
I'm new to UE4 (lots of experience with UDK, but am only just upgrading), but I'm still quite certain that precomputed lighting is still a big part of the workflow. I did some flipping through the official documentation (Here if you're interested), and my impression is that while the indirect and dynamic lighting is a lot…
No problem. Thanks for the reply earlier.Thats why I have decided to move to Blender.I have had enough of Maya dragging feet on things they should be adding to make apps more intuitive and with better workflows rather they keep adding one feature to one software and creating new apps that have features that should be in…
Well you need light intensity + color + maybe shadow...That's a lot for a single rgba map. The only way to use 1 single map is the way epic did citadel demo : baking a huuuge lightmap that could catch all the normal maps details in it. At the end, the normal maps aren't needed anymore. Bye bye to specularity. from another…
