maya python - read from text file, iterate through lines per keyframe and display to screen
Here's a script that will read through a text file, use line breaks as a delimiter, and show each line associated with timeline frame, starting from 0. Useful for synching animations with dialog or notes, which is really hard to do if your text is in a separate app. It's crazy that maya doesn't seem to have any native way… -

hand painting textures is a bit different than, let's say, doing life drawing. And even if you start drawing, adding mediocre 2D art to an excellent 3D folio still pulls the folio down. I know some folks who work at Blizz and who didn't have 2D art skills in their folios and still got hired - their 3D was top notch though.… -

i was able to fix my problem. the issue lies somewhere in the color id map. when i originally created the color ID map, i used xnormal to bake out a base texture then took that into photoshop and assigned all the UV islands with different colors or manually painted the area's i needed with the pencil tool. i took care to… -

@Avanthera, thanks for the reply! The sketches are lazy honestly. Working straight in pencil has it's flaw of not seeing the whole form yet. Fur is tricky...I'd say before you tackle that, go back to your model and check your anatomy. Also instead of checking your anatomy against a pencil drawing of a polar bear, wolf etc...get some photo reference Remember, with fur, you want to think of it in terms of clumps, and the patterns the clumps make, and how it flows… -

Imo it doesn't matter absolutely what monitor to use . Cheap or expensive , 6 bit+ or true 8 , wide or standard gamut. After colorimeter calibration all the difference is marginal. So colorimeter device is much more important. There is only two things: it should be IPS (PLS) and it should provide not so apparent frequency… -

I think the correct word to be used is this industry have very high standard for a entry level position, if you can't reach that level you will not be useful to the company. "Normal" companies usually have all kinds of jobs someone with little skill can do which is why they are able to hire people they think will be good… -
