Awesome, thanks for the fixes/improvements :) For the smoothing, would it be possible to also have, or instead of smooth by Angle? So faces could be smoothed be 45degrees or something. So then, if we turbosmooth with smoothing groups, it isnt all the same. -

hi , in 3dsmax i want to do automatic smoothing group but its too time consuming to go to editable poly and give number and set smooth group. can somebody make script to asign smoothing group 30 or 40 degree automativc. i want have button on my personal toolbar for 30 and 45 degree automatic smoothing group . tnx alot -

You'll have the same structural problems. If you feel modelling in maya suits you better, by all means do learn that. However; that will not necessarily fix the problems you're having. I find it easier to tell what the hell I'm doing when I can freely manipulate a mesh like I can in Zbrush, while polymodelling I feel like… -

Thank you so much for both answers! I tried 3dsmax and it was a lot better, but there are some things that are confusing. I like it, to place the haircards , when the "USE NURMS SUBDIVISION" is on. Its makes the Haircard smooth, when I place it. It stretchs the Texture so smooth, as it if would be real hair. Not work with… -

Itismario thats looking real good! As for your smoothing problem, I'm not sure how to smooth edge borders, but have you tried dropping a sub div level, smoothing the edges with smooth brush, then using 'reproject higher' to bring back the higher res detail? -
Re: Mip Maps make things look flat from distance
Well, normal smoothing relies on mipmaps to work, the more you smooth the normals, the higher the mipmap level is sampled, essentially using a blurry normalmap to give the illusion of "smoothed normals". So disabling mipmaps would have the result of disabling normal smoothing.
