Re: Texturing with Mudbox (Success, Workflow, Tutorials?)
I cannot speak to texturing in mudbox as I am unfamiliar with the program, but I prefer to do my texturing in zbrush vs photoshop. I grabbed the demo of mudbox this weekend to look it over and it looks to have some really nice texturing features, some lacking from zbrush I would really like but am yet unsure of the process… -

Hey, if nothing pans out here, just play custom games and find one you like. Ask the modders if they need artists and show 'em your folios, or hunt around the mod forums which are sure to be rockin' once the editor is out. I kinda goofed and assembled a team too early, everyone was pumped to make art, but with no editor… -

I like Modo a lot. For me Modo has a more streamlined feel to it than Max or Maya. Also aside from blender the price can't be beat. I've been modeling hardsurface subD props with it for a few months now and so far so good. The 401 release has been a little buggy for me, but I haven't had any more crashes than I would… -

I'd most certainly recommend 3DCoat's retopology tools.. I think worth the price alone. It still needs some streamlining but even as it is it's blindingly fast for experimenting with edge flow and moving things around the mesh. SMD has been replaced with a new file type called DMX. We're still learning some of the details, but overall the whole export process has been streamlined and simplified compared to the old method. DMX files can also contain blendshape info, so you no longer need to export facial expressions as VTA files. Setting up eyes…
