it is frustrating that you went as far as to get normal maps but decided to barely use their potential, and it's frustrating that Blizzard has gone so low-tech.
Certainly. There's not many live-action trailers out there of this calibre. I could easily say that Blizzard intros are cheesy CG fantasy, couldn't I? Trying to be objective with the idea, not subjective.
Yeah i've been waiting for the time they adopted blizzard's strat of making new content slightly OP then toning it down over time, it makes new content more fun ;) .

Looks more like nDo/crazybump/etc details, and I believe I read something that said Blizzard did not make highpolys for most units (not counting the in game cinematics).
This is beautiful, is this by any change exercising Z-depth on assets to make really functional alpha's? I saw something like thaty on a Blizzard dump before and i was really fascinated.

With GAPP investigating the Blizzard/NetEase joint venture, it's not unlikely this is just the result of poor relations with the Chinese Government. If you don't play ball, they can make your life difficult.
