This should go in this thread 'http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56014' But anyway! If I'm not mistaken there's a hole going right through it, not just cut out shapes at the sides, so what you'd do is that you first have the blockout cylinder for the main shape, without any height segments, cut out a circular…
Hey and I decided to do a little test in terms of how much raw mesh data could weight, so we would have a more informed discussion. Exported to obj. stuff is as follows: 2028 tris - 94.9kb 972 tris - 44.3kb 432 tris - 19.7kb 192 tris - 8.91kb Exported to .ase(the one you used fir UDK before FBX support): 2028 tris - 263kb…
For the maths geeks, the colours are calculated as follows If C0 > C1 then we have 4 colours in a 4x4 block C0 = Stored 565 C1 = Stored 565 C2 = 2/3 C0 + 1/3 C1 C3 = 1/3 C0 + 2/3 C1 When Zero alpha is needed in the 4x4 block then the following is used if C0 < C1 then we have 3 colours in a 4x4 block and 0 C0 = Stored 565…

I'd recommend changing to a more traditional and readable font. While some art directors might like your choice, it is harder to read than Tahoma, for example. I'm really not a fan of slideshows; I prefer direct links to larger, downloadable images. Also, many of your larger images are relatively small - 561x394; you want…
My Surface Pro is doing great for ZBrush&Photoshop, there isn't even a significant difference in performance in comparison to my Laptop with a core i7>X 560M. Obviously this can change at ultra high resolutions or polycounts, but I wouldn't want to work on that on a tablet anyway. :)
I was really hoping it was fixed in this update. I was reading other threads that it was going to be sorted in 1.7, hopefully something will come in terms of a fix soon as this is really stopping me from finishing my industrial Sci Fi inspired scene
Cables die especially when they are used, twisted and pulled often, you dont need to send your intuos back. Just buy a new usb cable. You will notice a lot of the expensive headphones these days also have detachable audio cables for both ends for the same reason. Just search amazon or whatever online store for your region…
This is a model that will be used for an animated series currently production. But for this presentation, I rendered it realtime in Marmoset Toolbag 2. This is RORO. Created by the brilliant mechanic, Koko, this cute little robot is fitted with an arsenal of high tech gadgets and capabilities. Not only Roro is armed with a…
This could be explained a lot better, often times to keep a round shape with details, you need more edges. So less edges = smoother isn't really something I would say is a generic rule to follow. I would also suggest skimming through this thread: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56014 and picking out a few…
