Breivik said he didn't like Modern Warfare but it was good training. I don't doubt that though. French and German arms manufaturers are basing training programs on CryEngine and UDK, although a spokesman from a French company said they'd tweak gun physics a bit for realism (they don't care about gameplay or "fun" there).…
yes. and most objects don't usually have any color in the spec - and those that do seldom have much saturation. Xoliul made a nice little diagram for it in a thread somewhere...here. it's specifically about the blue skin, but it works for the principle in general. I never use the spec color in max, though. Get the spec…

I have no idea what you are talking about with the dynamic tessellation features in UDK, haven't heard of them nor do I know what that means yet. As for subtools how in the world are there 11? I tried counting and being generous I can only see 4 of them. you've got a good start here, hopefully changing up the bricks won't…
well it turns out CE3 combines specularity with reflections, which i guess is how it works in real life so yea.. the problem im having is that im pretty sure flesh isnt that reflective but is high specular.. maybe i should try tightening the amount of specular that it is receiving to give it more of a wet look? or maybe i…
Impala88: thanks, I wanted the same color tones because I was going to make a large environment in UDK. I was going to make a lion version just like the eagle, but it will take some time right now I just need to bust a lot of props fast to get my portfolio Updated YBourykina: thanks, I will go back to it and add more…
So I think I'm gonna call the texture done, unless somebody sees something I've missed. These are just some quick marmoset renders I've done to get any last crits, and then I plan on bringing it into UDK for some final renders. I also want to try Key Shot Pro out with my High Poly. Texture Sizes: Tar-21 4096 Aimpoint 1024…
My resolutions: 1. Fill up 2 sketch books. 2. Make a full scene in UDK or other engine. 3. Keep working on personal stuff outside of work. (one new folio piece every 3-4 months) 4. modesty and character 5. Keep scripting and writing my own tools. 6. Take this course: http://workshops.cgsociety.org/courseinfo.php?id=322 7.…
I really dig this but the shadows look really harsh; particularly on the steps. This probably doesn't need to be as evenly lit as the concept cuz you have a better mood established, but I think the contrast between the top and sides if the steps is too... contrast-y. Unfortunately, I haven't used UE4 so I can't offer…
Thanks for the tips and information DWalker and CarlK3D, I will take everything into consideration and make some changes. The unreal map was my first work in UDK, and what looks like snow is supposed to be sand, I guess it doesn't come across that well. I will be removing a couple pieces from my website, and of course…
