Hi guys, we start texturing most of the building. -- for light mapping how the best way to prepare it ? since the building is attache and not modular. I am doing like this : is it a correct way ? need helps for light map. thanks
This is a class assignment for 3D Modeling for Games at FuturePoly. This thread is a work in progress so I'll be updating my progress as I add to and refine the modular building. I'm defiantly looking for feedback, thanks! (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/vYEA6)
Hi to all, I'm a solo developer with programmer experience but lack of expertise in graphics. I'm here to ask tip and help to improve my game graphics, more than technical from an "artistic" point of view. I can't explain why but there is something missing in the graphics, it looks just ok (maybe)... certainly it is not…
Thanks a lot for your reply @Eric Chadwick Regarding painting, I guess I should bite the bullet and learn it. Though I vaguely remember a method back around Zbrush 4 or so where I had sculpted the detail I wanted on the model in Zbrush and then just used a paint brush to paint. So I didn't have to deal with details in 2D.…
Our third task in our 3D course at TGA. Modular building of a (old) restaurant in Malmö. We used photos of the building for textures and reference to replicate it in 3D. 3 weeks in total, half time. I think I just about squeezed it in two weeks time since I started on it a week late. We were limited by at most 4500 tris…
Haven't looked yet but I'll check it out at home later. Have you considered building just a deformation rig and making it compatible with Nathan's rigify setup? I'd probably take this approach since that setup appears to be what will be included in all future blender builds and therefore likely to get the most suppport.…
I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to approach the texturing of the buildings in this scene I've been working on. I want it to be portfolio worthy and I also want it to show that I can texture buildings using work ready guidelines. The problem is, I'm having a hard time figuring out what the general method is by looking at…
First update. Building out the modular pieces to create the buildings. Lots of modeling and sculpting and doing some first pass on composition. Lots of props will be modeled as well. Let me know what you think. Appreciate any feedback!
Personal Art Test For the art test each member of the team was given a small asset to create for the environment, this was to ensure redundancy if the asset failed to meet the art test specifications. For the art test I created a small terracotta pot to house foliage in the compound and to be modular to use throughout the…
thanks for the comments! Jessica: nope, building it all from modular textures sofar, except some tiny props here and there sofar. And another update, another angle of the building. tweaked various things, added more props.. all around poking on stuff.
