Posted this in my workshop thread but I figure it would be appropriate here as well. While not technically "head" slots, the costume slots for these fellows are probably eligible for this contest. Whether or not Valve will press the button that makes Techies ready for the workshop is a whole other story, but they are…
Agreed, especially regarding the bedroom and the professor layton piece looking great. The only thing that stood out negatively to me immediately was the UV layout of the market stand. There doesn't seem to be a good reason to have the tabletops/shelves rotated at 45 degrees and have the edges stick out that way, only to…
Thank you for your help, i really need it. in Headus it looked fine before i've send it back to Max. Those seams runing over the flat top surface can be resolved with a "quick planar" but that leads to auto rescaling and rotation of the UV shell which i like to avoid. On the screenshot only the basis of the temple entry…
My 2 cents on the whole newbie/pro collab thing. Personally I like struggling. It give me 2 things. A Huge amount satisfaction after I get it done and the things I learn while struggling tend to really stick. Besides if I was to work together with a professional I would feel pretty uncomfortable. The whole thing would feel…
Yes I have a Gforce 7900 with maya 8.0 on Windows xp. I got this issue more than once, and so have my colleagues at work, I found that it occurred more often when I used a file that was from 7.0 in 8.0. I seem to get the issue while cutting, and there is no work around other than restarting maya, or the whole cpu. Try…
Virtuosic: I know very well what BSPs are, and yes, I'm using them to shell out the basics of my levels. What I'm asking, to make it very clear, is what are the advantages/disadvantages to using meshes vs BSPs for shelling out the basics of your level? In UDK. With Unity for instance you make your whole level in your 3D…
Bah! Don't bring Duchamp into this. Duchamp and the whole dada movement was more so about the tearing down of the preconceived notion of what art was, while it in fact is not really art. Calling it art would almost be doing the whole movement an injustice. Though those polish balls of mud are pretty neat. I mean, yeah…
Does anyone know how to fix the auto-focus glitch, or re-enable thumbnails in zb3.5? In 3.1 their was a glitch which made it so, while you were navigating, the camera would randomly re-focus to show the whole model. This meant having to find the position on the model you were working on previously and re-zoom into it…
looks nice, I would simplify some of the shapes a bit. When looking at it as a whole it looks really busy, kinda hard to focus on any one thing. I would also tone down the fog and maybe focus it to a specific part of the scene, for example maybe its coming out of a hole in the rock or just laying low to the ground instead…
Actually true. While modeling, I started it as a quick one. So rather than modeling it from a single cylinder, which is the method people use to model one. I kind of created it with separate planks. This way it became like this. Rather than having a perfect round shape, it's having that 16-vertex polygonal barrel. And…
