We've had better results with using multiple smaller maps instead of giant maps like 4k. Giant textures are bad for streaming and often take up more space in the pool than they should. Non-square textures (like 2048x512) are fragmenting the streaming pool and should be avoided. I think UDIM style texturing will be a good…
I suppose I will search for this term. I just do not understand what it means. If I am to assume, is this the preloading of other levels -around- the level you are in? Like streaming a video before you watch it? ::Edit:: http://www.hourences.com/book/tutorialsue3streaming.htm Oh my word?! This is alot to take in. So,…
Each update I waste some time to see if Substance Sampler AI does anything useful finally and always just shrug and go away. Image to material usually does something just marginally better than old crazy bump . Ads halos around height details and looks same awful at sharp light angles. Surprisingly it sometimes works…
Newest Update: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So something new again from me lol. I decided to make a fan art of a Demon mage by grandia lee Concept: My HP so far, there are a bunch of stuff that needs fixing like his nose etc I need to work way more…
Hello. I have a few similar question, just to clarify things with steam substance stuff: 1)http://store.steampowered.com/sub/62715/ "Substance Indie Pack" is a full substance software package with indie license that distributed through Steam platform, is this correct? 2)As substance main site states, the only limitation of…
@christrom Not a problem, glad to help. I do ocassionaly post longer write-ups in my sketchbook thread here on polycount but no e-book, yet. Thank you for the kind words. It's nice to see a follow up post with a second iteration of the model. The geometry distribution is much more consistent and the loop flow is a lot…
games like this make me think, why couldn't the newest final fantasy (or insert whatever game) be playable through the web like this. It's instant DRM for one. You have to buy a login and you stream the game's levels as you play. You can easily have ads on the site providing additional revenue. I'm sure for huge games you…
you know that kinda sucks :( When I did that feedback for 3dmotive for their new direction I didn't know that they were talking about getting rid of the option they had and going to only subscriptions. I keep up to date with all the videos, so I don't want to have to pay a monthly/ month to month subscription to only…
What helps me a bit is streaming. Once I press that "start streaming" button I know that I have to 100% focus on making art and I can't go and check polycount, reddit or etc every 20 minutes. Working 2-3 hours per day is okay. I can't work for more than 4 hours in one sitting because I get burnt out and need to take a…
I can see how it could be a misunderstanding and all, but where does he gets the votes then if not from scammed accounts/bots? He doesn't have a following on Twitter, and the only other media where he can apparently promote the items is through streams, but have anyone ever seen he promoting it? Also, if he is just…
