During the last month, I've worked for Streamline Studio (a Great art outsourcing company) that's why I wasn't available. Currently I'm fully available, don't hesitate to contact me if you need my services. Send me an email or a private message. I look forward to hearing from you Thanks.
Hi all I have good news. I took a job in Kiev. On 3d artist vacancy. In a Persha Studia. It's a big outsource company Thanks all for your works. It's always fun, coming here. Great forum with great artists. p.s. I has returned in Odessa for some things. On back road I have made some photos:
Not a weapon guy myself but I saw how weapon guys worked fulltime outsourcing for AAA project. Good gun took them 12-25 days. Depending on complexity. It was modern real life guns, not sci-fi. So if you are working on some nice FPS 2 guns per month is quite good speed.
Not every studio wants to deal with outsourcing though as the results can sometimes be messy. My first industry gig was a prop modeling position, but I don't hear about these so much anymore. Normally "environment modeler" is more favorable, like passerby said, they're wanting to see you do a level from start to finish.
Good day! I agree with you, I'm not a computer expert and thank you for the advice. I know it is very important to know the computer because everyone using that like home, office and school. This is actually a very valid point in more than one respect. Sure there may be two or even three times as many mobile games in the works - but does that actually equate to a higher rate of employment for developers? I'm pretty sure the answer is a resounding no. How many mobile games employ 30+ artists and outsource…

There's also that Maya Indie version that's been out for a bit. I think I got mine for like 250 USD for the year. I know for the outsource studio I'm with about half our artists are Blender users. It really just depends on what you can do with the tools you have like Tim said.
didn't you guys do distributed development at Moon? While Jon Jones covers more of management and communication, it would be interesting to hear from someone else about the troubles artists face when it comes to tools, pipelines, but also how to work with outsourcing managers like Jon. i.e. an artist perspective on the…
Indeed. It's a bit different to starting up a games company for example - because whilst they both can rely on client work, being an outsource, games devs can make and sell their own stuff whereas you are 100% dependent on doing client work - it is highly advisable that you build up a network before you jump in.
