What's your problem ? Getting the texture from the game or just applying them in max ? Valve's texture are in .vtf format, which max doesn't recognize by default. You need this : http://www.wunderboy.org/download.php?file=3DSMax_VTF_Import_1.4.zip&s=2 or convert the textures to some standard format like .tga with this :…
I know that our analysis was that we fixed the ones we could reproduce and that were most severed - but that is all relative. What we think is severe might not be what you think is severed. We might not have fixed the one bug that gives you the most pain. I'd wait for the trial download and try that. There is a CAT forum…
Just following what Butthair have said, its only work for me if I start 3dsmax2013 in "Administrator" right click on the icon of 3dsmax2013.exe and choose start as administrator after it works. The ony problem I notice its my edges, now got a bit tickier, after added anti-aliazing
Thread over on CGTalk describes a few methods how to fix it: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=237409 First one is to edit 3dsmax.ini and change the position values of the [MaterialEditor] section to 0, 0 so that it starts in the top left. This is an old texture that I worked a while back. .PSD, .Max with HP, LP (Plane), bake already set up, bla bla, everyhing is in there. Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/249054816/HP_STC_wall.rar PS. .MAX will only work in 3DsMax2010.
Yea its pretty nice having to fix their UI fuck ups... wee... If you like the ribbon at the top but want it to respect the command panel and keep from moving it down (throwing off years of muscle memory), you can force the command panel to order on top of everything else, keeping the ribbon contained like it is when it's…
Local X rotation on a biped finger twists the finger, Local Z curls and Local Y rotates it side to side. On a biped it will require a sub-animation controller, before you can wire anything to it. Without it you get "available". Even with the right sub anim controller it only works on the local axis there is no possible way…
Di$array - Thanks so much man, I was creating a super animate-able rig for her using the CAT system in 3Dsmax.It went well until the skinning bugs appeared. After a ton of research and 1ups I called it quits.I'll give it another shot though ^_^ Fred2303 - Thanks so much man and could you elaborate a bit on the unwrap please…
do you maybe have a maxstart file with some strange settings? (de)installed a renderer or custom shaders recently? something seems to go wrong inside the material editor. if all else fails, rebuild the 3dsmax.ini and/or look for other config files to rebuild inside the max-directory.
