Currently i am between 2 options. 1 is to upgrade my pc 2 is to buy Wacom Cintique 27 QHD Thinking what would support my path in the CGI field more. I do like to sculpt but same time i like also VFX in houdini. hard decision
Seeing as you photosourced the leaves you might as well stick with the same workflow. Websites like cgtextures has a plethora of textures (some tilable) that can help with creating bark.
I saw this on cghub yesterday and thought of your model. Marco Nelor did this, hopefully you can get some ideas from this. marco-nelor-rat-dudez by lorainehowardiii, on Flickr
Why not just straight up model it? Doesn't sound too hard. Google for "how to model ropes" came up with plenty of search result. http://cgcookie.com/max/2011/07/04/modeling-rope/ [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_B1QVHXbp8"]Maya Tutorial: Creation Wires, Rope - YouTube[/ame]

I'd say the circles on the ceiling tiles could do with a bit more definition and a more gradual edge to them, I'd only notice them in game if I stopped and stared at the ceiling. Also adding some height in the normal to the red paint would help to sell it a bit more. In fact more overall texture which is there in the dif…
You can score visa points, iirc specifically an H0, for being a globally reknowned artist. Placing highly in DW, CGTalk, CGHub contests would give you that credibility. Best of luck, I used to want the US deal too.
