Warning: Dumb question regarding texporter & max8
Well i'm using the trial version of max 8 at the moment, and i've just finished unwrapping a mesh and suddenly realise i don't have texporter installed... Go tothe website to DL it for Max8 and lo' and behold, there isn't a max 8 version! How do i get my UVW map into a texture now? Is there another plugin? Thanks Jon -

yes and no. The old XPS - the one the size of a small aircraft carrier and an according price - was great to upgrade with tons of huge harddrives (but SSDs are smaller anyway ;) ) and 4 DVD drives (why does anyone need so many 5 1/4 bays???) The new Studio XPS is a bit more limited since it's in a mini tower. Then again… -

Did you try Win 8? You tell it to go right to the desktop at boot and you don't have to deal with anything Metro. It's like a streamlined Win 7 then. I have said it before but my zukio 50mm a.8 is dirty cheap+ awesome. on ebay I got mine for 8 pound (about $15) and is one of the best makes around. So maybe worth a look for a few people. The 28mm was slightly more (around 20). Sorry to spam with the love for old Olympus stuff. -

I understand but the maps I am trying to output to not loose details are around 8 k each , and to oput all together I woudl have to make at least one big 16 k map wich I think its not supported and I am already struggling to make a 8 k AO for just the wings . -

5-6 hours on a train every day just sounds crazy. if they're prepared to match the pay at your current place, personally i'd stay there for the time being. 8 hours work and 8 hours sleep per day leaves 2 hours free for your own time after that commute. IMHO it's not worth it. -
