Relating to this, would you guys suppose this was sculpted or modeled? I've tried sculpting this before and it was very messy. I don't understand how to get perfect clean sculpts without it looking a little off. (Leviathan Axe Pommel from GoW) Does anyone have timelapses or videos for something similar?
back when i first got into the industry I was a super wide eyed wet behind the ears eager beaver, always reading up on CG, attempting to start projects that would always go unfinished and spending a ton of time playing video games etc. cut to 5 years later, I never do personal work at home, I have pretty much accepted that…

I've been thinking this through because I know how the system works, but I'm not sure why it works this way. Below is just my opinion. First of all, I wouldn't call it a mating ritual. Every company has a process outlined on their job posting. Follow it. Secondly, if you are financially desperate you need to concentrate on…
"The UV´s have much more padding now, but it still has shown the same issues (second image)" Hello, Your problem is related to UVs, but not to padding. And it's not even a problem with the UVs themselves ; you are witnessing (and currently misinterpreting) a rendering error and attibuting it to your normalmap or your UVs…
Required/desired texel density depends on that Texel density itself is static and directly related to object dimensions and texture dimensions. It does not change unless you modify UVs or scale the object In this case. The UVs are probably the root cause of any problems like pior said - it's certainly nothing to do with…

I am a Final Year university student currently working on a concept art based project for one of my modules. The hypothetical game brief is a stealth-based action / FPS game set in a city based around themes of surveillance and controlling appearances. The protagonist is a spy operating in an environment where everyone is…
Might as well add a possible solution for them also, @Don_Wasyl : when i disliked or wanted to get to the texturing already and didn't care about the uv's, (old model or doing texture tests) i just hand made the seams where they needed to be (about 5 minutes), pretty quick in max (again only program i learned the most in)…
Yea... conform would only work on single sided poly strips. From there you would have to shell it then and model the tape to overlap. If you use it on anything but a single sided poly it will not turn out well... Here is how I would handle it (pun totally intended) /rimshot Take a box, delete the top and bottom and size it…
