I am a Final Year university student currently working on a concept art based project for one of my modules.
The hypothetical game brief is a stealth-based action / FPS game set in a city based around themes of surveillance and controlling appearances. The protagonist is a spy operating in an environment where everyone is being watched.
I'm looking for feedback on my second set of environment sketches after some initial feedback. In particular, I'm trying to find which design ideas communicate the theme of surveillance most strongly, as well as the related theme of constructed appearances (celebrity / idol culture, advertisement). Each sketch combines multiple ideas together so feel free to point out specific details that work / don't work.
The intended tones include isolation, with the protagonist removed from the social world due to their objective and the oppressive environment, as well as fear / anxiety of being detected.
The designs are organized as follows:
1) Eye on billboard, searchlights, version 2
2) Cameras in apartment windows
3) Surveillance camera combined with searchlight
4) Apartments designed like surveillance cameras, large searchlights mounted high
5) Penthouse designed like surveillance / paparazzi camera
6) Apartment building designed like phone, version 2
