Got a lot done today. I tweaked the rock texture some more and removed the large chip in it. I am not calling it 100% done though. I'm going to make another with less chipping and just bumpy detail. For now I am moving on. I finished the modeling for the modular pieces of one of the buildings and the glass dome as well. I…
almost had a bike of mine stolen when I lived in venice, ca. I had it chained up outside my window and caught some dumbass who managed to cut through the plastic sleeve of the chain... but was having hard time with the woven metal. Saw me and ran. Noticed he dropped his pair of basic scissors... also when I had my jeep…
Jack Monohan go... *DOO DOOO DOOOO DOOO* That my friends is from Rock School with Jack Black. He doesn't say Monahan but it fits, anyhow http://gausswerks.blogspot.com/ -- the topic at the top of IE: "<img src="....jpg"> Looking really nice and simple though
It seems like no matter how much technology progresses, when it comes to internet, it seems like modems/routers/wifi always keeps screwing up at some point. And it makes me angry because I lose so much productivity because my internet just decides to crap out at random when I'm in the middle of doing something important.…
gotcha. when trying to snap meshes together in the editor and having the same texture, the uv padding is not important as the texture is meant to tile or be close to the same color. if the top mesh was stucco and the bottom mesh was brick, padding would be more important. so to fix my problem, i should make the triangle…
I'm not a max user and don't really know the terminology, but you would want everything to be combined into one object. So you replace wall-plain, with wall-window or wall-door etc... Some people call these sets and after you develop the basics, you can go in and add more and more pieces, look up any of Joel Burgess's GDC…
This piece is about 60% WIP at the moment. Still a bunch of little and big things to do, but overall pretty pleased with how far it has come! C&C always welcomed! Things still left on the plate (Copy and pasted from my Google Drive Work Doc): Finalize Interior structure: Pipe Texture Painter Pass: Door Pillar Door Window…
Agreed, I was thinking of adding the graffiti to the main arch with the door under it. thanks! Yeah, will make them wider, they were originally fatter slabs of wood but I thought it made the door a bit small, but the door is small by design anyway so it would make more sense if they were bigger. Thanks! Thanks! I wanted it…
Main thing that stands out to me right now is the door texture. I can't tell if you're going for some of the paint having faded/washed off/peeled off, or if that's supposed to be dirt. Your reference image makes me think it's supposed to be more dirt, but if that's the case I think you could benefit from spreading that…
The bricks to me look more like glass tiles to me rather than bricks. I think it's the combination of the thick bevel with the bright highlights that is really standing out to me. It's a very nice texture - it just doesn't read as bricks to me. I think that the blue texture (roofing shingles?) looks great, as does the wood…
