Hi everyone, I feel like venting a bit :# So I have been unemployed for a bit more than a year now and after sending more applications than I can bear to count and a bunch of interviews I'm still in the same situation. I have tried to improve my portfolio over the years but I think I've reached a point where it's not going…
30 grand unfortunately is a lot of money. But to purchase all the software is super expensive. Plus this includes all the outsourcing we've done (audio, video, and illustrations). I wish getting this game out would be cheaper hahah then we could get this done a lot easier.
I am in love with the quality of the environment art in the game. God damn all the assets and textures look lovely! You can tell a lot of love and a lot of high poly love went on this thing, big props to the art dept and to all the outsourcing people that worked on this!

The rates are actually all over the place. There are no standards. This table does not represent experience level, for example.
Yep, I will just second and third what is being said here. If you are aming for a game industry environment art position, I would remove anything that is not environment from your main portfolio. That said, some smaller outsourcing companies want generalist modelers.

Hii, My name is Justin Jager, currently working at Team 6 Game Studios. I'm working with Corne Steenhuis (and some other ''outsource'' people) on a multiplayer shooter level in UE4. I'm starting a material library using material functions. Then start making some assets for the environment.

Well...if you're associated with an outsourcing joint and you're trying to get contracts from a culture not your own you might expect something like this from "a place like that", especially if they swipe from individuals instead of big studios where they'll face legal action for sure.
