4/22/11 & 4/23/11 My sketch attempt at one of my favorites, Costanza by Bonarelli Bernini. Hair is just stand-in, more complicated than the face by far. I might pick a couple of these later and go back and detail them. From dynamesh sphere, about 1 hour each night, 2 hours total.
Some close ups with 4K textures and zbrush model. I had around 22 millions polygons, after retopology it's 53k polys :) Also i used fibermesh in zBrush to make hair, but it had too much polygons and the curves way to export to maya didnt worked for me so i decided to make hair by using planes.
I really dig the overall layout! I like the colors you used (I don't mind the orange) but I felt that the top header is wayyy too big. On my 22" monitor, it takes up nearly a quarter of the screen. It's good to make your name visible on your site, but you don't want it overshadowing your work :)
Yeah, I'm working on a 22" monitor, so I get what you're saying about how small movements translate into large ones on screen. Unfortunately I live in Ontario, a little far from Vancouver ;) Gonna keep thinking about it for the next few days, sale lasts until the 31st. Thanks again for the feedback guys.
i think it is looking real good. "miguelito" does your abuela still call you that? lol, my abuela still calls me that, and i am 22. my name is Miguel, also. nice to see I am not the only one that likes to work in the 3d modeling stuff. look forward to seeing your other works.
i'm trying to get my head around zbrush... again ;P obviously the hands/lowerarms/legs/feet/head (pretty much everything) is still wip. i finally found out that the clay tool is way more usefull if you set it to about 22-27 in stead of the standard 10 :P. crits, tips and tricks most welcome!
I decided to post some of my other work to this same thread so i dont waste any space :) . First one is speeder from star wars, and the second one is church interior (still in progres) http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk217/nixa_02/22.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk217/nixa_02/corridor.jpg
Out of interest, how about using one of these super-size 6" phones for showing a portfolio? I'm not talking for environments, but for products, props etc. Anyone got experience with one of these? Might be too small ..not sure. http://www.theverge.com/2013/10/22/4865276/nokia-world-2013-lumia-phone-announcements…
GTX 1050 is probably the best choice for your budget and PSU requirements, it requires a 300W PSU. The AMD RX 460 is another option, but it's slower than the Nvidia card, looks to be about the same price, and requires a 380W PSU so it would be a little risky. As far as monitors go, 100 euro isn't very much for an IPS…
