Hi, I am not sure what was your intent but if you have any paint effect and you convert it to the curves Maya would transfer paint effect to curves. This red arrow means it's a group and in that group are curve elements of some certain paint effect. As I know you couldn't convert curves back to pain effect. I hope it helps…
So you need 4 meshes and 3 normal maps for each model? So if you had an asset with 30 seperate parts you'd have to manage 120 meshes and set up IDs for all 30? Seems like a lot of work for a result that can be achieved by placing some strategic n-gons(or fwvn/normal transfers in a lot of cases) on the high poly to clean up…
This is great man, love it so far! Only crit I have is the grip looks a tad too perfect to me. It would be cool if it had some very subtle wear or something that made it appear to be used (since the person would obviously be gripping there and getting dirt or whatever there all the time). Even just a hint of oil…
Interesting video. So you are suggesting that we should use Zbrush Topology tool to create the low poly. =\ I am having problems with low poly model of my own transfered from zbrush. (lvl 1 sub div mesh). I cant seem to unwrap it and I have tested the unwrapping with the Maya sphere, and that unwraps just fine. I'll try…
You gotta be careful with the Unreal Vert paint--older UDK installs will wipe that data on reimport of a mesh. Newer installs of UDk have some checks(like the aforementioned option box), but if you add/remove verts to the model it can still screw up the vert ordering iirc... I remember reading somewhere about a vert…
@daphz: Thanks! you're right on the chin and yea the nose is very wip, hard to nail when you're looking at 4 different refs XD @Nizz: Haha thank you! A little too good, you say? >.> I'm only hoping this transfers over to my Dominance War piece when it starts XP Next character will def be for DW, but after that....probably…
Cheers Vig, reunwrapped and retextured that desk because the uv's were too unique so I thought when textures are sized down for realtime they will end up looking blurry/poor. Latest design... (it's minus one object which I'm working on now) Just trying to get a nice setup in Photoshop to transfer into a web editor but…
Great job so far mate. Really liking the boot design and I wish you'd transfer some of that line work over to the prosthetic. Also I would put some more time into the knee hinge as it doesn't seem you've given it that much love (even though it WIP), unless you're going for a minimalist look. Other than that keeping going…
http://kotaku.com/5815901/crysis-2-gets-sexy-on-the-pc-today-map-editor-on-wednesday Map editor, almost there! :) Can't wait for Cryengine... was watching Battle Royale last night, how I wish that were a game! -_- Maybe when Cryengine 3 goes public someone can transfer all the Crysis 1 foliage over; then all you gotta do…
I've run into that before. I install and use "LogMeIn" which is free web based remote connection software. You log into your work machine from home, export it, and then import it. I also suggest installing dropbox on both machines so you can transfer files back and forth. It's great for checking email or checking on an…
