I spoke too soon. I didn't actually fix the problem. For some reason the projection error is happening again. This is really frustrating. My low poly and cage are 100% perfect. The bake will work fine if I use Maya transfer maps but not if I use xNormal. And yes I have the Use Cage disabled. Source File (just the leg):… -

If I understand you right, you could probably adjust the pivot points for each object (Hierarchy tab > affect pivot only) and animate the objects themselves. I personally would probably use dummy objects like point helpers and skin the objects to those so you can swap out the meshes a bit easier and transfer animations… -

yeah, i was thinking about that just as i posted it. i've got a laserdisc rip of the theatrical on my computer, and it certainly is an interesting comparison (especially the people who swear that it is superior to the non-VO cut). the real question is when we'll be seeing a proper transfer and loaded-with-goodies version… -

The main advantage I saw from transferring characters, is not having to start with $0. Didn't make a huge difference, as there wasnt' a significant grind in this game. The disadvantage, is who died, and who you slept with. I'd imagine if you played a new game from scratch, all characters would still be alive, and all sex… -

i would suspect people would do as i have in the past, texture the high poly up in zbrush using poly paint, then transfer that over to a huge auto wraped texture sheet for the high poly. import that model into max and then bake the colors at the same time as baking the normals, you can bake them straight out in zbrush but… -

For all of the pieces I've seen, you have really good base colors. But the material rendering isn't quite there. Don't get me wrong, there's great improvement since you first started. Doing some studies from realistic lighting references would help you a lot when transferring the study to the hand painted look. Keep at it.… -
