such a beauty! i think the background is a hell lot distracting, i would tone it down or blur more or just make it a gradient to push her a bit more. Overall i guess you want to sell her as a magical being and thats why the bloom is so strong but i'd tone it down and add some partial bloom in post, right now it blurs her…
Technically, you would want to use Dynamesh when you don't have good basemesh. Like how some ppl like to start almost everything from a sphere, then push and pull and move it around. Dynameshing it often will ensure you have enough poly/geo to work on. Then you can retop or zremesh for cleaner basemesh. Then it's subdiv…
Thanks for the advice komaokc :) Will get on that as well tomorrow. I tend to worry a bit about doing something that's a little over board but yeah with next gen and it being for portfolio and all I think I can afford to push some more. Interesting seeing how you did it with the middle one in that screenshot given me a…
Ahh sweet.. I'm bit of a MGS5 nerd and I always thought that the game could use some more technical maps like MGS2 has - like an underground facility in the mountains or something. I would love to see stuff like your work as small mod done with Foxkit. But even just as portfolio peace it is nice to see. Btw: imo what makes…
good job feels very nice! i made so me progress on my asset, while doing just the bust my wife asked if i could add some cloth... so i might as well just do the whole thing... will need to figure out a way to get the triangular shapes into that cloth, that is one part i didn't lkke about the artdirection of the game, the…
Hey there! I'm assuming you're a recent graduate as myself? I agree with these guys, you really need to sort that Portfolio out. Employee's will only look at your Portfolio maximum 30 seconds, and need to see as much as possible to say that they can take to you to art tests stage. I've linked my Portfolio, and this is what…
ok its terrible. Well you did say criticize it :) To be serious the image is not showing up so i reposted it it looks ok to me, but maybe the dial holes are too close to the edge of the main ring. Not too keen on that purplish tinge to it. down to preference I suppose maybe push the fresnel a bit more and try some lighting…
Hey @Blue_Pixel, this looks nice! Feedback-wise, I'd say you could break the silouette of some of your props a bit to make them more natural. For instance you could add some edge loops on the pillars, where the brick seams are, bevel them, and push them inward a bit. The wall with the quadragular shape and the ground…
Hi Everyone! I have re created this scene from the warrior within in Unreal a while back. I been sitting on this for far too long I planned to push it out at the end of it. This is my first scene in unreal and first time posting in polycount. I would like to have any types of feedbacks or comments on the scene So I can…
That's a very good point. Most industry insiders I've spoken with all agree that the quality of an applicant's portfolio is their first priority. And the more artist-focused the position they are applying for, the more this matters. If these students have the completed work to strut their stuff, they should be finding…
