Thanks big time MoP, I'll check out that Switcher plugin because I've been clicking for hours not finding a way to get it to snap like how my brain wants it to. Yeah I don't quite get why you guys want backfacing off... just dont get it at all....
Having used both, they each have their strengths and weaknesses. Overall I think I prefer Max because the modeling tools seem a bit more robust. However, I think the viewport navigation, locked orthos, and sticky snap in Maya is a lot more intuitive. That's why I use Switcher for Max :)
Glad to hear you got it working. Its so damn easy to do in max, i can never get how maya complicated rendering so much. On a less whiny note I'd take a look at the ray switcher it really is a neat a clean solution, plus the production shaders are damn awesome.
What a titanic pile of cherry picking crap. How can you say "not much has changed"? You show a "recent title" that is running on 12+ year old hardware and try to pretend like it's the best anyone can do. Lets look at the same game running on hardware that is from this decade. GTA5 Lets look at some other games from this…
Hello, I am searching for visual artists, that can
contribute assets to my private project. I am a German computer
science student who loves playing computer games but gets
disappointed by 80% game companies deliver and the other 20% are too
short to spend a reasonable amount of time with. For most of the 80%

These contracts have been filled. Thanks everyone who sent their portfolio. I won't be able to get back to everyone but I saw some really great artwork and was glad to have the opportunity to look it over. I need two different kinds of art so I've split them out as different contracts, but ideally I'd like to hire the same…

True, I wasn't at the event and I would be first in line for a beer afterwards but I think the point is still valid. There is obviously immense hype and excitement at the event and throughout the remaining night. It's vastly improved from the previous year but it still remains as one of the few "clunky" moments of the…
Looks like the scene of a nuclear explosion. Even the corn looks like its withering. I'd try to play around with the colours more. If you're going for a sunset approach, perhaps try and target this.
I definitely have problems with sculpting volumes by lighting and rendering materials. Because of this, it's impossible to finish the concept of raven-witch to the final. I decided to practice on still-lifes. This turned out to be much harder than it seems from the side... reference: This is not yet complete. It is…
