Hi, I figure there must be a way so Maya displays the curves above (and through) geometry right? Blender has a simple way of doing that: 'Object Properties > Viewport Display > In front'. Thx!
When you drag the muse does it draw another copy of your model(tool)? If so simply draw the new copy, hit edit on that one. You should have two tools inside the scene now. One you can orient around and the such, and another that is just an image. To get rid of the one that isnt working go up to layers and hit clear 'layer'
Art Style very similar to Persona 5's blocky simplistic stylized look. We want artists that will make these assets from scratch. Using pre-existing font's is not allowed, however they can be referenced.
I used to fling out 2 examples to my students that don't really seem to exist online anymore. Del Walker (Sr Character Artist at Rocksteady). http://drawingyourdreams.com - When I first saw Del's work, it was "rough". Pretty much the textbook definition of amateur artist. Thing was.. he worked hard. Every month he…
Thanks Tiros, you solved my problem! What you said about draw order gave me an idea, so if anyone has this problem in the future, this is how you fix it. (I like to grab screengrabs out of the max viewport so it's important that it looks right within max for me) The cloth plane was the offending object. It was being drawn…
Are you sure about that? I thought if a mesh has multiple material IDs then it has to be redrawn for each unique material essentially increasing the draw count by the number of unique materials? I'm pretty sure that's the argument for why it's always more performant to use a single texture atlas than multiple materials on…
Home, Cintiq 21ux, about 8 years old I think? Work: some sort of Intuos, I don't recall what model. With the large Cintiq I can draw fairly accurate straight lines by kind of dragging my whole arm down the screen. A bigger tablet helps when you follow the art school mantra of "draw with your arm, not your wrist"
Hehe It's just called lazy mouse ...not just for mice. I use a tablet too. Lazy mouse just smooths a line you draw and drags your brush behind. What this allows you to do is to draw long strokes of say hair a lot smoother. It's originally a Zbrush brush option you can toggle on and off. I wish I had a deco brush in PS too.
Figured it's high time to stop lurking and start a sketchbook, been trying to get better at 2d recently after spending a lot of time on 3d stuff. Trying to learn to draw faces mainly as well as grasp the basics of 1 and 2 point perspective. Here are a few recent pieces of work: A couple of rts/ fantasy houses I drew to…
@pmiller001 Here's a video I found that explains landmarks really well. Basically bones that are very close to the surface, Not muscles. I marked the clavicle, the arch of the ribs and the belly button in red, they are all landmarks which you can use to measure distances between things on the body, I forgot to mark the hip…
