The house is 7792 tris and uses 2048 Maps The tree has 1024 maps for the trunk (along with a 512 detail map tiled 8 times) and 256 maps for the leaf canopy :) pf The PICS:
Here is progress so far. Im wondering if I am getting to detailed early on for a building. Mostly with some of the smaller details in the trim. My aim is to keep the count around current engine such as source guidlines. currently at 1646 triangles 957 polys. Thanks in advance for any advice. - Jesse
Bear in mind that changing the size of a mesh effectively changes the Dynamesh resolution. Compare the size of the mesh to the ground plane. If you kept the 256 resolution but decreased the size you'd end up with a mesh with less geometry and softer edges.
