Hi all , Newbie alert I am retareting a Mocap but I don't know how to get the control rig to follow the skeleton. I saw an option on an online tutorial to Bake to Rig that does what I want but I don't see it in LT??? Assuming it is not an option in LT is there a workaround to accomplish the same thing. I want to be able to…
Animation terminology is as follows... Geometry is skinned for deformation to bones. Bones are rigged to control objects for animation. Using skinning and rigging interchangeably can get confusing. So just stick to the above. I'll rephrase this..."This only works on the bones if they are not rigged" The Skin modifier keeps…
Just finished it. Certainly very similar to Portal in many ways (is that ever a bad thing?). I enjoyed it and they introduced the new mechanics well, if they'd just chucked you in at the deep end it would have been very frustrating. Nice art style which goes well with the vibe of the game. Ike is cool, I'm expecting there…
That's different. They had teams of stop-motion animators with years of experience in that craft who had little to no experience manipulating a virtual rig on a computer. It was a bridge to get those guys' skills into 3D animation. I'd be shocked if any of them still use the waldos. We've come a long way in terms of…
Thanks for the help. If you guys mean the controllers I have them all frozen. So the positions in the first screen on every controller are 0 0 0 but when I parent for some reason it resets the transformation and trys to go to the center of the world. Is there any chance that this is because the position on the actual IK's…
Someone beside me plays simulators! wow ;) Rise of Flight is good, but I love DCS: Black Shark - a russian Ka-50 gunship simulator. It's most advanced simulator since Falcon 4 ;) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZjSI021j-c[/ame] They are now working on A-10C game, I can't wait.…
Interesting.... I just thought symmetry would make it easier to UV?... I'm currently having alot of troubles trying to Rigg this.... Any Suggestions or tutorial links? I was hoping ot learn how to make some sort of IK handle for the Ponytail too... So I can like grab the tip and have the entire base / joints follow it...…
It's definitely possible to have it as part of your animation system. If your characters have really similar bind poses and similar numbers of bones, the rotational keys from the animation can be applied to a different rig. One guy rotating his upper arm 53 degrees is pretty similar to another guy doing the same thing.…
ROFL^^^ i've been reading a lot of trek lately. i've bought and read the IKS Gorkon series (all set entirely on a klingon cruiser), the first of the new titan series (following riker on his new ship after nemesis), the third paperback of the SCE series (follows a group of engineers) and i'm dipping into old discworlds in…
http://jhaywood.com/croiProjectArm00.htm FatAssassin has some great tutorials on his site setting up some good arm rigs. What's great about his tutorials he shows how to do them in different ways so you can kinda' pick and choose what you'd prefer. Only thing he's missing is a tutorial on doing FK/IK switching with an arm…
