im totally sold on modo after tryin out 103. need to make the extra 200$ then im gonna get my dirty hands on a copy for sure. especially with the free upgrade it seems like a good deal (not liek silo tho but what the heck )
Actually there is! You need to check the "Metalness" box when you create the project. It should be noted though that the GGX curve is missing from the 1.3 release so you have to rescale the roughness for now, but in 1.4 GGX will be fully implemented!
It looks to me like the same block 4 times, just scaled differently and one of 'em is rotated 180 on Y. I don't think the slicing is anything magic, I think they've just textured both ends of the block...
MAX offers $123 or so monthly subscription. Anyway I'd say go with Blender. When you get hired into 3DS MAX based studio, you should be able to recall all your MAX muscle memory in a week.
The turret design seems a bit odd, especially the taller back. Something like the turret from an M-113 might work better: You might also want to scoot the turret forward a bit, to get it closer to the center of gravity.

Hi! Testing new vesion of Silo (1.3)- Started with my male base mesh object, and modified it a bit... - Wing is currently a bit "out of use" as i didn't want to block view while modeling in Silo... will add wing membrane later, if i have time to finish this one... CnC welcome!
Hi guys I need your help. I applied a smoothing group inside of maya on my character and on the screenshot you can see the result I get. I did use google and forum search, but I can't find the reason for this problem. Smoothing group ankle is 180°.

Step 7, For pick path choose the line. Press Move to Path Button. Mess with Rotation axis to line up leaf. If it is upside down. Rotate 180 degrees with values under rotate. Line up with Percent. Stretch and twist if need be to add some character.
