Rebuilt half of the scene, replaced rock placeholders. Modeled a 1st version of the hero asset (the tree) to see how it could sit in the scene. The answer was, meh, still needs some work. Then I did a dirty overpaint and added some vegetation. Will definitely develop this image further, I just wanted to post some updates.
Not uv sets, but asset references - objects that exist in their own scene files, and are used 'virtually' in your main scene to assemble a map. (like how it works in many game editors). I don't know much about the workflow with Unity, it looks like it can load .mb or .fbx, are you loading the maya .mb in Unity?
Hey man, scene is coming along great. Looking really nice. Quick crit from me, I think your scene would benefit if you were to rework these cages. Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are just planes/boxes with double sided faces? They would show/present much better if they were properly modeled.
I ported the entire scene from Unreal to CryEngine as it suited the style of the scene more, I was wasting a lot of time noodling in UE4 and not really making a lot of progress. I found the engine pretty cumbersome to use due to the long build times for lighting and now compiling materials which is really disappointing.…
Started with the high poly models.Today i was able to finish the lockers and, i also started the high poly for the sofa which is still WIP. Screenshot: I need to add more details and to revisit the cushions. Finished high polys for the lockers: Also here is the scene in Unity 5. Note:Ignore the bad lighting in the scene, i…
Thanks @Ashervisalis I finished blocking out the color in the scene. I'm going to make a few fixes to some items tonight and starting bringing the props into 3d-coat for extra detailing and color variation. Depending on how long that all takes I want to make a few extra props to fill out the scene. Thanks for looking!
Thanks ANTUT, I'm already doing this though (6 islands + hard edges with bleeding). SCRUPLES I took your files and did a max scene with it. Still getting that little shading problem. Maybe I'm doing something wrong with my cage? This is my scene: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33632100/Cube.zip Thanks again!
So we've got Tiger tanks attacking German cities while being spied on with night-vision goggles... +1 for anachronism? Scene is coming along, but it needs to be lightened up considerably. Just because it's night doesn't mean you should have pure-black shadows in your scene, get some moonlight going or something!
And a environment scene I was working on over the weekends. I'm trying for a sorta dark and abandoned alley with only a dim light shining throughout the scene...probably gonna have quite a few cables hanging around and maybe try my hands on some environmental fog as well :D Ref : WIP AO render ! Thanks!
Did an initial export to get some stuff into Unreal to start a scene so I have a basis for materials. Materials are just in a basic state right now. Dirt, wear, and details are still to come. Just getting some of the scene in-engine gives me some motivation to continue haha. Obviously, the water level is missing. That's…
