You're welcome. I'll see about chopping it up into bits. EDIT: I've chopped it up into 6 parts now. Uploading part by part, transfer speed is the limiting factor here. I'll keep updating post #1 as it progresses.
you can add in your contract that the rights are only transferred after the final payment so you have legal upper hand but can give away the asset if you have non shady clients always make a contract
It doesn't matter which app you learn in the beginning. All the fundamentals will transfer over seamlessly if you decide to move to another app. I started in blender, moved to max, moved to maya, then back to blender for building DOTA items.
Yep you will have to skin everything but once you have the base skinned you can use skinwrap in max or "copy skin weights" in maya to transfer weights onto all your assets after that and then just tweak from there.
pedro... it is impossible to help a noob like yourself, be a man and transfer everything to winamp or windows media player, its noob friendly :P (no help what so ever, but I like you so I wanted to say something).
Here is the hot key thing that makes it like Maya more. I didn't do this, I got it from RyanH again. So if it blows up your machine blame him. http://jeffparrott.com/transfer/maya-like_hotkeys5.kbd
Is it possible to take the mesh on the right and transfer it to the mesh on the left as a shape key? Whenever I try to do so with this method below it fails. Giving me the error "skipping the mesh, vertex count differs" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7PNbMASU9o&t=28s&ab_channel=HarqoGames
I downloaded this to deal with a bad blendshape target: http://olygraph.com/2013/maya-how-to-transfer-vertex-order/ Unfortunately, after I installed and activated this plugin there doesn't seem to be any menu or context option to bring up a GUI. What am I missing here?
This is a character design I am currently working on. I have been focusing on learning subsurface scattering for the skin. Also, this is my first attempt at transferring normal maps from Z-brush to a lower poly mesh in Maya. Any feedback you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Alright so I use Maya 6.0, and use the transfer surface information plugin...and it was working fine up until I tried it tonight...now when I try to normal map, it outputs image files that are just grey! Anyone know what may cause this?
