UVW Xform modifier lets you change scale/rotation/position of existing UVs. Helpful if you know you need a certain numerical offset. Which version of Max are you using? According to Epic So I can just pay $20, cancel it, and the engine's all mine? Without the updates of course. Also, they say the engine requires alot of power. Can my HD 7770 + i7 860 do the trick? At least for just importing assets and lighting them? If all of the above is true, then holy crap, this is a game changer! -

Well. You should try removing those pieces from the lowpoly and just use them as baked. If they doesnt looks good as baked (but they should), then you can try your second method, where you use splits. As just baked, they would looks similar as on this:… -

It's slower because of how many UV islands you have, 868 is a lot more than what most models will use. -
