I think the textures look pretty low res for 2048, especially for the parts closer to the camera (see pic). Remember to give stuff closer to the player more UV space. Speaking of which, can we see them? The UVs that is.
big game industry doesn't equal big game job market. The industry is big because there are many players, because MMO type games where you have to pay to play are popular and because of the whole e-sports sector.
The UCX is a clone of the static mesh, to preserve the curvature and allow a player to jump parts of it as they run. As it's a convex shape, I hadn't expected a problem. The STL check shows no errors, so that's one thing down. Thanks for that option to try, though.
The answer to this question is maths. Lots of maths and code. Edit: If you're working in UDK, you're going to find there are a lot of things that UDK treats as 'default' that are going to get in your way. One such example is player collision cylinders; they cannot be rotated.
It's decently fun and graphically VERY impressive, but it's not the IL2 Sturmovik successor a lot of us hardcore WWII flight sim grognards were hoping for. Most of the player base seems to live in the arcade battles rather than the realistic simulator rooms.
Picked it up today, really enjoying the firefight mode! Harder than I thought too, I agree with Saviour that single player doesn't play like Halo 3. I find myself hiding a lot more lol.
Given that I'm working on a UDK project (yeah yeah like everyone else here) this is very, very good news. Epic knows how to ever more fully cement their market share with both players and developers--this is good news.
Okay definitely gonna read that article! Also before I was told to make pixel density large for places that would be viewed by the player, and smaller for the areas that were not. This is what you are referring to, correct; 100% size for all of the texture uvs?
new feature, the player will be able to pick up chicks from the rooftops, just like in real life. they are armed and they got your back Jack! currently, there are 3 different head models and a randomized dress color. video soon. cheers!
@Setes, your file is fine, actually in the Player, look for the Set Size Limit item in the Option menu and set it to 4k, also make sure you use the Dx10 engine in the Switch Engine panel through the same Option menu.
