Gorgeous, can't wait to see this finished... Rebar aside, the only thing throwing me off is the clean split down the middle of the door... They look very heavily reinforced. I think even just setting the interior half askew so it doesn't look glued to the other door could help a lot, but right now it's a little…
Hey dude looking pretty good coming along couple of small things. On the doors (didn't look at reference myself) are there supposed to be handles in order to open the doors? or do they just manually open? also no hinges on the doors looks like they are just floating there. This is being really picky but the placement of…
UDK has problems sorting polys that are part of the same mesh if you're using translucent materials (even if the opacity is 1). As far as I know, masked translucency (1 bit opacity) doesn't have this problem but that doesn't work with your window. You could make two separate materials for the door, one for the door itself…
i was expecting a terrifying tableau of darkness, given the sort of silliness that alan moore tends to indulge in for photoshoots... but it's just sort of nerdy and sweet. hope it's a good match. oh, and in the last photo, alan really ought to tone down the shaders on his jacket. there's next-gen, and then there's just…
Excellent response @kanga , and I totally agree with your points
regarding using the right approach for the model, this door could just as easy be
created in a standard modelling program. Thank you for sharing your work on this thread, very cool!
and your message made me question my approach to making tutorials. I have…
Alright did a bit of a big shift. Got rid of the unique stuff for the door made it almost entirely of tiling textures. and repacked the unique stuff... added a cushion to the chairs, and the unlocked hologram on the door I also sized the door texture down to a 1024, and I plan on up-rezing the trim sheet to 1024 as well,…
Good progress on your stuff, I wish i had this much time on my hands to pump work out :D . ok enough with nice coments :D time to tear things apart for you. I dont know why u want to hand paint on a curved floor pannel, if ur 3d artist made it up that way than i understand. But usually what i have learned so far is to plan…
List of changes: - made three textures; tiled brick texture, texture with unique details like windows and door and trim texture Screenshots: Trims Brick wall Door and windows Description of progress: My workflow with these three textures had been roughly the same as previously. The trim textures will be used to create more…
Ok. I think you need to keep more of an eye out for optimization. It should be your key focus now. Your textring isn't bad but you could get more of a bang out of it with better usage of polys and uv setup. If your painting normals, then think more tileable. If i do a high poly model for my normals I'll still try and see…
