Quadro K4000 has issues with Mudbox as far as i know. it is also not certified by Autodesk last time i checked. k4000 is $800 and for quite a bit less, you can get firepro w7000 @ $660 which will run all your dev tools as far as my experience with it tells me.
Upgrading your CPU without upgrading your motherboard is almost always a futile process. You'll pay $1-300 for a cpu that is 10% faster.
