ancient system? athlon's/pentiums 1,6 - 3 ghz. my own ps5.5, which offers no smoothing, is much more responsive, even on far slower systems below the 800mhz mark. it was so bad that i sold off my then brand new photoshop cs and it seems cs2 has only made it worse. the question should maybe be if you only tested performance… -

I have a d70. What is your application? Do you want to have a Dslr camera? or do you want the portability and lower cost of a prosumer (point and shoot type with a non-removable lens). The only advantage the prosumer cameras have is size and maybe cost a lil bit (depending on which lens you buy woth your dslr) in the price… -

Fix your UV's man it won't take that long. You have multiple elements with the same color and normal repeating 4 times in your maps its just lazyness it looks like an auto-unwrap. All you would have to do is overlap the repeating UV's and then pack them back in and then cut the elements in your maps up and rearrange them… -

Well I can say for a fact(looking through the editor right now) that the weapons in UT3 are in the range of 4,500 to 12,000 triangles for the first person view versions of the weapons. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the weapons in COD 4 were in the area of 6000-8000 tri's. -

Yeah, I put one of those 60mm to 80mm fan adapters on my family's computer because I was too lazy to fix the computer's airflow problems the correct way. It worked like a charm (loud as hell, but you can get quieter case fans). -

You can do this even faster by taking your original image, and setting the Crop Tool to, say, 80x80 pixels in the Options Bar. Then you just drag the Crop tool anywhere around your image, whether the whole or part of it, and the proportions will stick to whatever you st it to. Hit Enter and you have your thumbnail image.… -

yes this is very true, we dont use triangles or even count poly budgets in them. straight up quads and we get our monies worth.. average about 6000-8000 quads per chacracter, not sure of the environment specs.
