Some environment artists do a general blockout and then get straight to nailing the lighting. This is what I learned myself to be a good process based on my (small yet) experience in the matter. After the lighting is done, you can do polish passes on the blockout, start working on some base tiling materials, and so on…
it already looks sculpted to me :P looks like clay :( I'd suggest you stop modelling for now, read a little bit about sub-d modelling theory and then look at the model again, and rework it, because It's really wonky and bad. Here's something to get you started:…
On one hand me too, but realistically I'm just glad that for once my 2 year old components can still run the newest games flawlessly on the highest settings. A few years back having a 2 year old PC meant 800x600 and low/medium settings.
I like the warhammer stuff. Although you say you're not looking for feedback, your site has some glaring improvements to be made:* You really need to put up wireframes, texture sheets, editor shots etc to back up the models you have made, otherwise one can't properly make out the construction. * Your header image could do…
If someone with a hiring duty at a company spends the time to download 80mb's of someones reel you should give them more than 1 scene. That scene can have a lot of time knocked off if the well and gas pump were knocked out and it was just the scene being showed off. I second the lighting comments, they're killing this…
i've got a bad feeling in the stomach when using the paint tools, it's very, very basic right now not much more then paint with soft brushes, the only cool thing is the use of stencils but you can do similar things in zbrushm nothing that can compete with deeppaint or bodypaint, at least for me i experienced slowdowns only…
Hollowmind gets it. Now how do you post an image on this sparkly new polycount? Here is the url to the uncovered image... http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8044/qbranchfullxi6.jpg
In any video tutorial I've seen, the windows fit into the aspect ratio of the screen, I really can't see Motionbuilder being the only tool I have ever used not resizing the windows to fit the screen...Surely its just configured to display on a 800x600 screen or something? Is there any way to edit this configuration?
I don't think its necessary to list what High School you went to in your Resume, and that you're Food Safe...plus you might want to revise the look of your website, and size of your demo reel. You list Adobe After Effects in your known software, yet your demo reel is around 80mb as a quicktime file, which makes me assume…
rofl welcome to polycount. everyone comes here for masochistic reasons. you make art, get your be-hymen torn up and grow thicker skin. Art is personally originality. The test is made to see if you can hit a spec. Most people do this and loose that spark in the art, and we get flooded with art tests. It's a boring, very…
