I've never seen this before. That's a new one! The first piece of advice I'll give is to ensure that you're running the latest drivers for your 1080. Also, what copy of Photoshop do you have installed, and what are the rest of your system specs?
From "Hacking," I thought of a "slash" particle system that would be used to designate a debuff or effect on a character. And because the .gif images are starting to lag the thread, here is a link to my UDK package. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/39680559/SpeedArt_Challenges/GnawingBiting/BitingBreaking.upk
That's why I've been proposing a store to sell mods. They sell the mod, then you can 'select' it for your rented server. That way they maintain control over it... who can use it, and, if the mod is doing something to violate the system, the company could remove it completely.
ugh they still use that same voting system, its the sole reason why I stopped doing the mini comps and ultimately, stopped visiting GA :/ Oh well not gonna force myself to use that crap, but I'll still admire the awesome art!
I have some questions. Is it free for Education? Whats the licence fee/bundle deal for pros? Is "Beast" used for the lighting system? Are there any Landscape tools in the near future? This could be great for film pre viz, that will bring Games and Films ever closer.
There's a system for that already, actually. What I was thinking is to just make sure people give some % of the Service provider slider to Polycount. Seems reasonable enough to me, and it doesn't come out of the artists pocket at all. basically what kite said, yeah.
well, max can render glow, but its not beautifull. so i'd use a postproduction tool nevertheless. regarding the effect: either draw something in ps or whatever and stick it on a plane, which rotates always to the camera (clips with geometry) or use a particle system
There is Unity3D learning project just about that. Google it and you should be good to go. It should contain asset postprocessors as well. :) There is some avatar research forum on unity forums as well. here on polycount I remember excellent example of avatar system as well.
Friend of mine said I should post this. Its for a game I'm working on, its serving the purpose of the menu systems for the game. This is rendered in Unity 3D btw. Also, heres a working concept for the main menu: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/16345881/MenuTest.zip
Oh good, I didn't recognise any change to the decal system. Would you mind to share a bit more details? I'm sure other guys over here http://polycount.com/discussion/comment/2555698#Comment_2555698 will be very interested in that as well.
