[ QUOTE ] Okay, so people want Obama for president simply because he gives good interviews on Oprah? I'm hoping that the Polycounter advocates for an Obama presidency are looking at more than that. [/ QUOTE ] OK, we get it, liberals watch Oprah whilst sipping our lattes! All joking aside, maybe he does need more time in…
Compared to what? It's possable to work without a gizmo or tool handles, when you turn them off and can lock to an axis with a mouse movement its much quicker as you no longer have to focus the curser on the gizmo or handle. This is something that, as far as I am aware, you are unable to do in max or silo. I think that its…
Yeah, arms and shoulder area are too long/massive. If you squint a bit the arms look like a second pair of legs. They dont seem wrong by themselves, I'm thinking that if you size down the arms down (on al axis) with the pivot on the shoulder just by a few centimeters, they will thinner too and look better. Then i would do…
Slum, methinks the banter is a little more complicated than 'next gen bashing'. It's exceedingly hard not to chuckle a little over the fact that the thread title says 'hi poly' about an asset that appeared in footage *fiercely* proclaiming to be realtime. Now *that's* pretty bloody funny. But yeah, I can see how that could…
Hi Rooster, I'm afraid you'll have to eyeball the intensity setting... sorry about that! Depending what setting Maya uses, you might have to invert Y-axis in crazybump's preferences before loading your normal map. If crazybump's displacement map looks right in the 2d window, then it will render correctly on your model.
Jay, we have a couple factories in the far far east that do the production work for us. Depending on the purpose of the output, we either use a CNC device (which is a multi-axis router) or a printer. The piece of equipment that we are most excited about using is the Eden 330, a printer with an extremely fine resolution.…
Looking better, just remember A rhino's head and neck are huge, make enough room in the shoulders. He will look more powerfull. I would scale that neck hole a bit on the x axis, stretch it out horizontally. Also smaller legs and a bigger belly would give you a more powerfull feeling. Stout is the word.
Make sure "Use Axis Center As Start Snap Point" is checked on in the Grid and Snap Settings dialog. For some reason they set the default to off. If I didn't know any better I'd think it was a plot to make people abandon 3dsmax. Since it makes snaps largely useless with it off.
I agree with the pivot changes. Worse even is that in pivot relocation mode (or whatever it's called, what you get when you press insert) you van only transform relative to the world, no other axis at all.
