Check under Customize->Customize User Interface. If the command is available in there you can assign your own shortcut if there's nothing assigned by default.
Found a solution - assigned controller in the motion tab instead of path deform modifier and then assigned it to the path - child dummy now follows the parent. :)
Just finished my first assignment for a game art apprenticeship with Brett Briley to make a high poly prop from a selected prop sheet. Learnt a lot and I can't wait for next weeks assignment.
fade1 - I have it assigned as a MEL hotkey (CTRL+T) after restarting Maya, and trying on a sphere, nothing happens ? I can't even get Bal script to work with a Y assigned hotkey, arghh.
So i have to assign a different number to every adiacent face? Is there a way to do this automatically and not have to assign manually numbers to every face? Sorry but i read the documentation but it isn't really clear to me.
the bake in the lastrender looks good but it might not be good ingame or realtime shader u should select the drum and assign smooth at 45 then select the indents alone and assign again, (i think the 45 will be enough) then bake

when I make a cylinder for example and I extrude a cap face, the polygons have no assigned smoothing polygons where as the original polygons are assigned to 4. It's not that much of a problem, just a huge annoyance when modeling. does anyone know how to fix?
I am taking a class right now where we are doing some simple scripting. The assignment for this script was to make something where if you migrate files to another folder you could update your paths to reflect the new location by searching an replacing the path, of all files or selected ones. before I go on here is my code…
