I'm using an old X1950 works fine in all the 3D packages I've tried(which is alot and I'm using 3DSMax now). There drivers are no more and no less reliable than Nvidia's unless someone comes up with definitive evidence to say otherwise. So if you make a cube in 3dsmax (for instance), it will auto-assign 6 mat IDs. Apply a 6 mat, multi mat and Goz/Goz. It appears to work. However, ZBrush is just using the vertex order which happens to match the ID order. If you now swap two IDs (on the cube/mesh NOT the multi mat) and GoZ/Goz; then the error manifests… -

If you have access to the Apex PhysX plug in it does something similar to what you want. You skin cloth to bones, loosely animate the bones, and finally run then run the sim. Make a new COPY of this scene Go to material editor Drag mouse over all the texture mats, DELETE them all select your object and use the eye dropper, this will pick up your mats and only add that ones those particular objects are using back into the editor.
