How do you reconcile the processes of hardsurface modeling and sculpting to work together? This has been something that I've struggled with for some time, and it's mostly a question of topology. Often, if I'm modeling an inorganic mesh, I'll be adding bevels or control edges for proper smoothing, but this results in a…
Love that style! Makes me think of driftwood and how it’s been sculpted by water over time. Neat stuff! For similar hand-sculpted workflow, see the Polycount Forum thread Texturing - Siege Of Orgrimmar - WOW. More on our wiki here: http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/EnvironmentSculpting See…

good start, are you using a Tablet or regular mouse? try drawing some little details to use them as reference and then Sculpt the shape out of it, the best way to learn Sculpting workflow is to watch other people sculpting videos.
I want to get started with sculpting but I'm curious...What do you use as far as hardware to sculpt? Do you use a graphics tablet for the sculpting or a mouse? I would love to know, I'm a noob, lol.
I think you need to scrap that and just sculpt random heads using a lot of reference and anatomy guides. Maybe try sculpting the Asaro head if you're up for a challenge. And also remember to sculpt in the lowest subdivision possible.
Start learning a modeling software first, Zbrush and Maya/3ds Max. Then when you feel comfortable with modeling in both packages, start learning anatomy and sculpt, sculpt, sculpt. There's much more to it than that, but that's how you start.
