1. Clone and collapse your object. 2. Attach the new objects to the clone. 3. Add a SkinWrap Modifier to the clone. 4. Add original Skinned mesh to the SkinWrap modifier. 5. Make sure Skin Wrap is on Face Deformation Engine. 6. Then click Convert to Skin.
How are you baking the AO? using an AO node or using the AO setting in RTT? what is your unit scale? how big is the object in relation to it. can you render the object in a normal render using AO, does it work? do you have overlapping uvs?
Hey Guys! Does anybody have any idea how to model week 16 object? I start from half sphere trying to match the overall shape of the helmet, but i cant get the right shape. What your best way/technique to model this object?
Very true it could be optimised, though was trying to leave it open as nearly all these parts will be normal mapped and have individual features, I know it may be expensive! Definately feel ya though, as progression is made from object to object those maps keep on getting tighter!
Max does have it through edit poly and other modifiers which could be applied on several objects at ones. For Blender there was an add on that could attach/then detach back selected objects after exiting edit mode. Had its limitations although and I didn't touch it for a while
if an object is convex it is much simpler to work out whether a point is inside it than it is with a concave object. this is a 2d version of the basic principle with a convex shape you only ever need to make one check against an edge (triangle when transposed to 3 dimensions) , with a concave shape you could (in theory)…
Dear Polycount Community, Black Horizon Games is currently looking for skilled 3D artists who can help us achieve AAA quality. Since this is our first game ever, we will obviously start small and work our way up, because we believe that quality is more important than quantity. The software we will be using is Cry Engine 3,…
The "why" is important because there may be better ways to solve your problem but that depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you're trying to use dynamesh to retopo an existing object then you could duplicate your object, dynamesh at a fairly low resolution then subdivide it and reproject your details from your…
Thank you guys. Yeah, the problem really was caused by multiple unwrap modifiers. I collapsed dem all on every object (to avoid other problems) and added one to them all so pretty every object's stack looks like -Unwrap UVW -Editable poly. P.S. Woo, gonna texture!
It's something you'd spend a little time to set up, you're probably not using it if you don't know. I'm pretty stumped here, can't think of a reason why some objects in the same scene would revert like that. There's an old bug but it was inconsistent, but I think that was fixed. Are you deleting the history on the objects?
