Haha, I honestly think I'll hold off on the (wonderful) plugins for the time being - until I get a better grip on the default junk, largely so I don't end up getting extra confused when trying to google whatever issues I run into. Once I'm out of the woods, though, I'll load up on these handy tools.
make sure you run in 32 bits desktop, else gl driver might create issues. I had a radeon as well and did use a tool to get latest drivers (as the laptop vendors hardly ever update theirs, but catalys is by default not installable). "dhmodtool" or so is the name. other than that make sure the viewport options ar set properly
My best guess here is you're exporting with a material applied to the mesh that has the texture tiling more than 1.0. Exporting for UDK, you need to have only textures that are set in your max materials to tile 1.0, otherwise it seems to compensate for the tiling by stretching your UVs on export. An easy check is to export…
There might be something up on script spot that helps you, I remember there being a window management script that allowed people to reset the window positions, it might of had "current position as default" options too, but that might of been a pipe dream I had... You would think something like this would be standard…
Decided to do some modeling last night... too much? I still haven't touched the hands/legs/feet/tree - just tightening up the mossles, also - I added a default tree stump for him to sit on, it looks good but for the sake of modeling it's not in the scene yet. I realize the bicep meeting the shoulder doesn't look very…
oooh... that could be a problem then. I have had cgfx shaders working at work, but there we have Nvidia cards. :( I have also tried your shader Kodde and the same happens with that. both techniques are greyed out and nothing I do has any effect on the default pink shader. I'll try the shader out at work tomorrow to find…
The main body has its own material as does the shoulder guard, the hood, and his waist cloth which are the only 3 objects with transparency. As you can see I'm still having sorting issues, any more suggestions? This is hardware rendering at default production settings. I'll try some other options and some general tweaking…
Yes. I recently looked at an applicant who sent a CD with an autorun pointing at an exe, which in the end was just a UI to his avi files. Anyhow makes me glad I disable Windows' stupid CD-autoplay defaults. I won't run an exe unless I know the source. I like monster's MPG/ZIP idea, good tip.
So yeah, HR should really be called the Employment Impedance. I talked with the HR person, who reassured me that it was the right test...Unconvinced I called up the lead I had spoken to in one of the interviews and he immediatly said not to do it, and that they were working on a test for me, and that she just sent me that…
